Sinnlos im Weltraum ("Senseless In Space") is a German language parody on Star Trek – The Next Generation (and The Original Series, in one episode) based on original film material with newly dubbed sound. All in all seven friends put their own humorous dialogue, music and sound effects over the episodes after they noticed that -on mute- the main characters and their mannerisms/mimic displayed certain traits missing with the sound on. They decided to dub a few episodes in the dialect of their homeland in Germany, Siegerland. The dialogue consisted mostly of random verbal abuse, nonsensical small talk, chauvinistic vulgarities and general non-sequiturs and vulgar silliness. Reflecting this, the original stories were turned into absurd plotlines that mostly centered around binge drinking, drugs in general, sex and ridiculous derivations of the original storyline. The characters became the complete opposites of their original selves: For example, Captain Jean-Luc Picard is a grumpy, exceedingly violent alcoholic with no respect for women and mostly disgust and contempt for his crewmen, Commander William T. Riker a severely mentally challenged moron prone to confusion about his surroundings, Lt. Cmd. Whorf has a childlike, inmature personality and is often treated as such, etc...
