About Simone Jackson

A footnote to the early history of the Beatles, teen pop singer Simone Jackson (nee Jacobs) was born in 1947, and had been performing professionally for all of five weeks when she was backed by the Fab Four at Liverpool's Cavern Club on September 12, 1962. (The evening's bill also included Freddie and the Dreamers.) Jackson's recording career for Pye was brief, and includes just three singles -- "Pop-Pop-Pop-Pie," "Ain't Gonna Kiss Ya" and "Tell Me What to Do." Little is known of her subsequent activities by Jason Ankeny
