There are multiple bands that use the name Shutter. 1) A post-rock band from Inverness, Scotland. 2) A band from Hunter Valley, Australia. 3) An alternative-rock band from New Jersey, USA. 1) Shutter is an Inverness-based instrumental post-rock quartet from the Highlands of Scotland. Formed in August 2004, it consists of guitarists Matt Campbell and Peter Macdonald with brothers James and William Roberts on bass and drums. In their time active, they built up a reputation for their strong live shows, supporting the likes of Deftones and Pelican. Their debut album Pillars was finally released in July 2010. The band remained inactive after 2013. After almost a decade, they reunited in 2022 to play one of the last shows in The Ironworks, a beloved Invernesian venue who's opening night they had played 16 years before. The band remains active and has continued to play live sporadically. William Roberts has gone on to play in the Edinburgh-based band We Came From The North, Peter Macdonald and Matt Campbell also play in the Inverness-based post-grunge band The Little Mill of Happiness. 2) Shutter is a band from The Hunter Valley, Australia. It consists of members Aidan, Dylan, Jacob and Matt. They released an EP in 2007. They are influenced by Incubus, Grinspoon, Silverchair and the Klaxons. 3) Shutter is an alternative-rock band from New Jersey, USA. Consisting of vocalist Jon Correa, guitarist Gavin Shields, bassist Dawid Warchol and drummer Teresa Marinuzzi, the band's unique style combines elements of Shoegaze, Grunge and early 2000s Alt-Rock.
