About Shaped Like Swans
Shaped like Swans was founded in the depths of Valby (Copenhagen) in late 2010 by guitarists Nicholas Meents and Nicklas Thomsen. They contacted their old friends, Ole P. Schwartz and Jesper V. Gün when he decided to move from Fredericia to Copenhagen. YouTube link Free EP Download Facebook Since they weren’t able to find a permanent drummer for the band, they decided to contact Chris Kreutzfeldt of Scarred by Beauty, to record the drums for the EP. They entered Badcat studios in april with Chris Kreutzfeldt as producer. Originally they recorded 4 tracks, but decided to short the EP down to 3 tracks, due to the aesthetic of the songs. The mini EP is titled ‘’Rain’’ and consists of 3 tracks: 1. To Dream is to be Alive. 2. Rain (an Interlude). 3. Renovatio. The tracks are done in a ‘’between the buried and me’’ fashion, fading together, and creating a feel, of a single song.This means they are heard as one long track, or 3 individual tracks, depending on the taste of the listener. Soundwise they play a blend of metalcore and post hardcore, with emphasis on melodic passages, as well as thunderous breakdowns. Current line up: Jesper Vicencio Gün - Vocals Nicklas G.
