About Secondbest
Secondbest were a young Sydney based melodic rock/punk outfit who made a name for themselves through constant touring of both the East and West Coast's of Australia and playing support for some of the world's finest bands, including: Millencolin, Strung Out, Unwritten Law, The Ataris, Snuff, Frenzal Rhomb, Bodyjar and alongside bands like New Found Glory, ALL, The Vandals, Pennywise, Guttermouth and more on The Vans Warped Tour 2001. The band itself has existed in a serious form since early 2000. It all started with the band's 3 track single 'Cold Wind', released December 2001, selling out after making it's way to the 2000 sales mark, today where only a few copies of this release remain. The band toured constantly on this release, in fact they recorded the next EP 'Don't Look Back' while on tour in Queensland over 5 days at the popular Red Zed's Studio in Brisbane. It wasn't until international attention was drawn onto the band that it was discovered another band shared the same name, many legal notes passed hands for a few months until it was decided that it was in Secondbest's interest to come up with a new name. This came at a key time for the band. Things were happening for them both at home and internationally, it was going to be hard but it was decided that a new name was needed to take the band to the next level. As of November 2002 they were known as Silent Corporation.
