About Sashko Kostov
Born November 18th 1981 in Veles, Macedonia. Talented 27 -year-old composer, musician, arranger, drummer, singer, guitar, bass player & producer. Engaged in making music as of 1995. Started with the band called "Kuken Sovet" like a drum player and backing vocals. In 1997 Kuken Sovet has finished first demo album, “Crna Hronika” Kostov was member in “Kuken Sovet” till 1999. After “Kuken Sovet”, Sasko is solo artist for short time. In 2000 year he has performance on most popular festival for pop songs – “Makfest”-Stip and he performed in the first semi and at the finale evening. 2001 he formed band "Bad Sector". Two albums, “Postoi vreme” 2001 and “Battery low” 2003. Sasko is now a solo artist. His first solo album "Amalia" (2004) - a combination of a German kraut and electro from the 70’es. Amalia was album who didn’t do so well, manly because psychedelic sound predominated in this records. He also says: I made this album only for me, and for my small circle. I never made concerts and waiter promotion for this album. In 2007 His second album - "I'm losing my mind". Was published by his own music recording label “Two Points”. "I'm losing my mind" is mix of many musical genres: pop, electro, indie. The vocals are his most powerful weapon. Like an solo artist, Kostov released his third E.P – “Vertigo” in 2008. Produced by him self and featuring cover art made by Nikolina Kujacha it was released on the independent label PMG Recordings. Sasko Kostov described EP as "more beats, vocals and electronics" The songs “Vertigo” and “We are stronger together” reached number ONE at top list of Kanal 103, Ravel, and other radio stations. For 2008 Sasko Kostov is proclaimed for an artist of the year by “Macedonian National Television”. He is very active at the Macedonian musical scene, playing life gigs with hem bass player Slavco Peev. Sasko is well accepted by the Macedonian audience. Recently promoted his first video for the song "I'm losing my mind". In hem music knowledge Sasko has collaboration with musician Nisula from France. At the moment, working on his new album, witch will be double Cd edition and content of this album is connection between electronic and acoustic sound. Next project - soundtrack for a movie which includes experiments with arrangements, gospel and pure sounds of glasses. Occupied with minimal spectral drum polyrhythm. Studying at the Jazz Academy , jazz drums and African percussions.
