About Sara Cruz
There are at least two artists sharing the name Sara Cruz: 1) An Italian/Londoner singer-songwriter; 2) A Portuguese singer-sonwriter from Azores; 1) Sara Cruz Leaving her native Italy at a young age to pursue her music career, Sara spent time travelling through Europe and North America before settling in London and immersing herself in the various electronic music scenes. Her first taste of success came in 2008 with her appearance on MTV’s Coca Cola Soundwaves. Her debut release soon followed in the form of Pop / Rock anthem “Worthless”, earning Sara “Artist of The Week” and “Songwriter of The Month” in leading music industry magazine, Hitquarters. In 2010, Sara collaborated with Glisten Music director Clyde Jones to write and record a number of Electro Pop anthems which would take her career in a completely new direction. Her songwriting collaborations with Clyde along with the studio skills of emerging producer Tim Besamusca would help to kick start Sara’s career once again. With a focus on the growing Bass Music scene, Glisten connected Sara with a host of heavy weight producers including Crystal Clear, Flore, Genetix, Schema, Soul Intent and The Death Beats whose remixes would help to bring Sara’s music to a whole new audience. Sara’s Glisten debuts would go on to receive airplay on BBC Radio 1 and BBC 1 Xtra with support in the clubs from world famous DJs including Crissy Criss, DJ Friction, Klute, Knife Party, Outbreak and Simon Bassline Smith. 2) Sara Cruz "was born in 1995, in the island of São Miguel, in the Azores — an archipelago in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean somewhere between Europe and America. Presently at age 23, Sara has been regularly writing and singing since 17. The first time she sang onstage, she was only 14 years old.
