Sancus

About Sancus

Sancus is a Finnish emotional rock/ alternative metal band. The band was formed in spring 2006 by 4 young musicians: Joona Kettunen (Drums), Valtteri Kivinen (Guitar), Tuomas Makkonen (Guitar) and A-P Hyökkäri (Bass). Lead singer Annica Kettunen joined group in spring 2007. In the beginning the band was called Everyday Hero but in summer 2007 the members of the band decided to change the name from EDH to Sancus. The very first compositions of the band were difficult to play (‘cause they were too fast, the time signature wasn’t right etc.). Actually, they felt that difficult only because of one reason – the players sucked. Progressive metal wasn't right genre for these guys. In winter 2006/2007 they managed to get ready their first real song. Kete named it ''Shoked Shit''. It was very simple and quite a boring song without lyrics and it sounded like a punk song. After that Sancus has made about 6 songs and the band is ready to make a demo tape as soon as possible. Tuomas composes songs with Annica and Valtteri. Annica writes all of the lyrics. Lyrics handle often love – the good and the bad sides of it. -Sancus’ middle age is about 16,5 - The members have been borned between years 1988-1992 -Influences: Bullet for My Valentine, Breaking Benjamin, Killswitch Engage, My Chemical Romance, Pillar, Atreyu, Three Days Grace, Funeral for a Friend, TRUSTcompany, Sparta, Ill Niño etc. Added: 6.8.2007
