About SWIERNALIS

Paweł Swiernalis, known simply as SWIERNALIS, is a Polish singer‑songwriter, producer and multi‑instrumentalist born in 1989 in Suwałki. A self‑taught guitarist who cut his teeth in local cultural centres, he moved to Poznań in 2008 to study photography and audio engineering. After fronting the post‑punk outfit Twist The Beast, he launched a solo project called Lord & the Liar and played over 150 shows on the European indie circuit. His atmospheric sound and dark lyricism caught the attention of Kayax at the 2015 Spring Break festival, leading to his debut album Drauma (2016), an introspective record mixing alternative rock with cabaret flair. He has twice been recognised at the Fama Festival for his creative approach to performance. Swiernalis’ follow‑up, Psychiczny Fitness (2020), expanded his sonic palette with synths and electronic beats and yielded singles such as “Blizny”, “Wirus” and “Ogrodnik”, the latter featuring Piotr Rogucki. In 2023 he released Stoicki Niepokój, recorded with his long‑time live band; the album’s singles (“Kryptowaluta”, “Myśliwy”, “Part Time Filozof” and “Cherry”) lean into pulsing synth‑pop and moody disco. Alongside his solo work he plays bass in the alternative band Hoszpital and, since 2022, has performed in the duo Kryształy with pianist Michał Kmieciak. After leaving Kayax in 2024, Swiernalis began releasing music independently and adopted a more stripped‑back, song‑oriented approach. His 2025 singles “Nie zmieniłbym wiele”, “Żeby mieć za czym tęsknić”, “Dziury w moim sercu” (with Max Bravura) and the ballad “Ja już te błędy popełniłem” deal frankly with love, addiction and mental health, combining post‑punk guitars with synth‑wave textures and marking the first taste of his forthcoming fourth album. He also collaborated with the electro‑pop group Administratorr Electro on the single “Zimne ręce” in January 2025. Swiernalis continues to tour Poland and Europe with his trio, delivering emotive performances that blend raw vocals, guitars and electronics, and his fourth studio album is scheduled for release in 2026.
