About SUREBURN
Sureburn is a young, unsigned, up-and-coming band from Dallas, Texas. The average age of the band is 22. This lineup includes two vocalists, two guitarists, one bassist, and one drummer/percussionist. The six members of Sureburn attempt to create intense, melodic music that translates into a diverse and energetic live set. The music is typically described as hardcore-metal or emo-metal or rapcore or melodic new-metal, but a true description of the music is most likely a hybrid of all of these. The guitars of Sureburn are extremely powerful and overdriven through countless choruses and breakdowns, yet at any moment they can break into a quiet instrumental interlude, creating dynamic, "breathing" songs that mirror different emotions and experiences. The vocals can range from ultra-syncopated rapping to multi-harmonied singing to hardcore-styled screaming.whatever it takes to get the message and tone of the song across. The lyrics communicate the heart and purpose of the band. In doing so, they prescribe a message, make a statement, or engage in Twain-esque satire. Bass and drums unite to form an iron-clad rhythm section, putting forth extremely tight and pounding grooves, accenting the melody and progress of each song. Their performances draw from Afro-Cuban jazz, funk, Top Forty, Motown, and early-Nineties Rock. Since its inception in the summer of 1999, Sureburn has played countless live shows in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. In the summer of 2000, the band toured the Southwest in support of its first full-length CD, with stops in Phoenix, Los Angeles, and throughout Texas. In fact, Sureburn places a special emphasis on playing live shows, viewing them not only as a vehicle to promote their music and have fun, but also as a way to recruit new musical allies. Sureburn has played with several national acts such as Vision of Disorder, Skinlab, Union Underground, Drowning Pool, Skarhead, Candiria, et al.
