S.N.R.T.M. stands for "Société Nationale de Radiodiffusion et Télévision Marocaine" (Moroccan National Radio and Television Company), as well as being a portmanteau of SNRT (Société nationale de radiodiffusion et de télévision), the current public broadcaster of Morocco, and its former name, RTM (Radiodiffusion-Télévision Marocaine). ab97 has also stated that the name and concept behind S.N.R.T.M. was inspired by signalwave project I.C.M.A.S.A..
