About Ruth Lindsey
With a wide range of influences from folk, jazz and soul, Ruth's song-writing reveals her often melancholy but ultimately optimistic reflections on life. Inspired by her upbringing in Melbourne's leafy outskirts, and also by her wanderings amidst the glaciers of Alaska and the redwoods of Oregon, Ruth's lyrics form evocative imagery that's enriched by her strong, distinctive voice. As well as making her own music, Ruth has collaborated and performed with many other artists/bands including Pete Ewing, James McCann, Stella Angelico, Jemma and the Wise Young Ambitious Men, Waywardbreed, and Cradle Mountain.
