Count Rudolf II of Neuchâtel or Rudolf von Fenis († before August 30, 1196 ) from the Counts of Neuchâtel family was a Swiss minstrel of the 12th century . The ancestral castle of Rudolf von Neuenburg is in Neuenburg between Lake Neuchâtel and Lake Biel and has been attested since 1181 . Rudolf von Neuchâtel died young before August 30, 1196 . Bishop Berthold von Neuenburg was a brother of Rudolf. Rudolf had a son, Berthold, who carried on the older branch of the House of Neuchâtel. In keeping with his partially French-speaking homeland, he wrote poetry based on the models of the Folquet de Marselha and Peire Vidal , but in Middle High German.
