Super underground Brasilian group formed by Mauro Assumpção (voice), Rubinho (violão and keyboards), and friends in Rio De Janeiro in the early 1970's. Their lone album, Perfeitamente, Justamente Quando Cheguei, has long had a reputation for its West Coast psychedelic elements (the dreamy introspection of the opening track, for example), although we've also seen it described as soul/funk... a description supported by the funky second track, the bossa groove of the third track, 'Os olhos', the lilting samba psychedelia of 'Tá tudo aí', as well as a few others on this disc. The end result is compelling, with early Chico Buarque and maybe Black Merda as strange but plausible reference points.
