Roymackonkey 1997 - Present. Roymackonkey are based in Darwin Northern Territory, Austrlalia, and are an Alternative Rock band. Their primary style is Hard / Heavy and Loud. Roymackonkey are John Coulehan (Vocals), Darryl Barba (Guitar), Brian McLeod (Bass) and Fletcher Bowman (Drums). Their Debut album "Abandonment Issues" will be available mid August 2012 which features the track "Sleep Tonight" which won the band two awards, "Best Rock Song" and "Peoples choice Award" in the Inaugural Music NT Songwriters awards 2012. Their new Single "Sleep Tonight" from "Abandonment Issues" is available for download now. Roymackonkey have been in the for front of the Darwin music scene for 15 years, Roymackonkey have played with a variety of Local, Interstate and International acts. Roymackonkey's music has an eclectic influence from bands like: Skunk Anansie, Sarah McLachlan, Faith No More, Mastadon, and a varied range of influences is what gives Roymackonkey their own signature sound. Roymackonkey got it's first radio recognition in 1998 with their first EP "Quality of Meat" in the Triple J Unearthed of 1998, which is a band competition organised by Triple J Radio Station.
