About Rob Aston
Rob Aston, musicly known as Skinhead Rob, is the vocalist/rapper of the California punk rock/hip hop band Transplants. He began his career in music as a roadie for AFI and Rancid. Aston eventually started a solo career, which stayed underground with his song "Show Me". Aston became involved in the Transplants when Tim Armstrong asked for lyrics to the songs Armstrong was making. The two started jamming in Armstrongs's basement whenever they found the time. They eventually enlisted Travis Barker from Blink-182 to do the drum tracks, instead of having drum-loops as originally planned. At the end of the 2005 Vans Warped Tour the Transplants broke up and Rob and Travis joined Houston rapper Paul Wall, who chopped and screwed the Transplants' Haunted Cities album, to form a new group called Expensive Taste.
