There are several artists worlwide named with Retina: 1) Retina is an experimental metal hardcore band from Rostov, Russia. The band Retina was formed in 2006 in Rostov-on-Don by members of Inshade and Rollercoaster. They decided to play heavy, technical yet atmospheric music, drawing influence from bands such as Ion Dissonance, The End, Into the Moat, The Red Chord and others. After several months of rehearsals the band recorded its first demo, consisting of two songs. Following that, Retina began performing actively both in Rostov and in other Russian cities. Soon the band recorded a five-track EP, self-released. In the summer of 2007 they played the Ukrainian festival Red Alert. The EP "Bionic Diary" was released on the American label Statik Factory Records. The debut album "Entropy" was released on January 28, 2019. The second full-length album ".d0t" was released on April 17, 2026. 2) Retina is an industrial/experimental band from the San Francisco Bay Area working since 1988. Retina has produced several studio albums and was also featured as the first artist on the industrial compilation From The Machine released in 1990. The latest EP, Beginnings, was released in early 2009. Retina is a registered trademark of J. E. Christgau, US Pat. & TM Off. But who cares?
