About Resynator
The Resynator is a pitch-tracking synthesizer invented by Don Tavel In the 1970s. Thirty years later, his daughter Alison, born just 10 weeks prior to his death from injuries sustained in car crash in 1988, discovered the only working model left. As a child, Alison heard stories about her father's synthesizer, but she knew little about it. At age 23, Alison would go on to become an assistant to singer-songwriter and musician Grace Potter. Prompted by a conversation with Phish bassist Mike Gordon, she made a trip to her grandmother’s attic, where she discovered the Resynator. Alison is now running a Kickstarter campaign to fund a documentary that tracks her road to discovery with both the Resynator and her father.
