About Remy Balon
REMY BALON is a Brooklyn based musician, originally from a small corn field town in Southern Ohio. Grandson of a former big band musician and pianist, he was raised on music from the late 70s and later took influence from such acts as Elliott Smith and Ryan Adams. Remy had two songs, "Black Hearts" and "Chad's Favorite Song" (a "Defiance, Ohio" cover) featured in the 2007 Oscar Nominated Film "Half Nelson" and one song on the accompanying Lakeshore Records soundtrack. Today, Remy plays with band mates Jayme Elterman (Cello, Vocals), Mike Presta (Drums) to create a beautifully low-fi acoustic folk rock sound that showcases those Ohio roots. Remy is currently working on an EP for a December '09 release and a full length album for a Summer 2010 release.
