About Red Transistor
New York No Wave band, only togther for one year (1977-1978). Their only release is the "Not Bite/We're Not Crazy" 7" single that was planned for release on Red Star Records. The single wasn't actually released until 1990 on Ecstatic Peace! Records. There has been a rumour that the band was going to release a full length release for Red Star, but according to no way expert Weasel Walter, this is just wishful thinking. Guitarist VON LMO supposedly used Red Transistor material for the solo record he put out following the band's demise. Three tracks by VON LMO that appeared on the double CD Red Star compilation are said to be demos originally meant for the Red Transistor full length, according to his manager, Peter Crowley.
