About Rainy Day Regatta
Michael(from Soophie Nun Squad) and Ryan formed Rainy Day Regatta in Little Rock, Arkansas maybe sometime in the late 90's? Initially a two piece acoustic/punk/folk band, which is the sound found on their first full length (CD only) release on Harlan Records. While recording 3 songs for their follow up 12" EP (released on Landmark Records), MC had written lyrics to one of the songs and instantaneously became the third official member and then of course provided lyrics and voice and keyboards on all three songs fleshing out Rainy Day Regatta's sound. While not always an active band during their existence, Rainy Day Regatta did manage to tour several times, the last U.S. tour as a four piece with Gabriel on additional keyboards. They went back into the studio to record a second full length, but as far as I know the recording was sub par and scrapped and it was never released on Harlan as planned. In addition, Rainy Day Regatta was featured on a benefit compilation LP called ? and may have other released material that I am not aware of.
