About Rävspel & Kråksång
Rävspel & Kråksång was started in the winter 1996/1997. It all begun with an idea to make music of the local scald Klas Olofssons poetry. The work resulted in a CD called Vår hembygds sägen, which was released with the support of Fristads Hembygdsförening and Borås communicity. 2005 saw the release of the bands first "real" CD, named EIA! Mustiga visor från förr och nu. It contains both the bands own songs, and interpretations of historic material which reach from the medieval to Bellmans 18th century. Everything in a playfull and entusiastic style. The goal is to, in contrast to many other ensemles playing historic music, not lock up the music in dusty concert halls, but instead make it alive by translations and a teatrical image - Exactly as many tunes one time were written to be heard.
