About Puriden
Puriden is a punk rock band based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Made up of songwriter/guitarist Matthew Gilroy, drummer Dan Huppman (ex-Robins), guitarist Louis Weil (ex-Sic Bacchus) and bassist Philippe LeSaux (ex-All Torn Up!). Their releases include 3 EPs and a full-length LP Car Troubles was written from 2013-2016, recorded in July 2016 and released on May 8th, 2018 on bandcamp. Equal parts pop-punk, emo, and something darkly weary, the EP is a grab-bag of catching melodies and powerfully colorful lyricism. The Winter Demo, featuring home recordings and an early version of "Mystic" was released January 7th, 2020. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the group wrote and recorded the Condos of the Future EP, which was released on May 21, 2021. On December 5, 2023, the band released a split with NJ emo beloveds Goalie Fight, entitled Amateur. The split was self-recorded at Bruce's metal shop in Newton, NJ in March 2023. In advance of their 2026 full-length release, they published a new single, House Not a Home on September 30th, 2025. The second single, "Insufferable Man" was released on November 18th, 2025. Their debut full-length record, Public Aging, was released on January 20th, 2026. A limited edition vinyl press (/100) is available on their bandcamp page.
