About PritStik

PritStik were a duo, hailing from Glasgow, Scotland, who were primarily active in the mid to late 1980s, but gained attention when recordings from that era surfaced on mp3.com in 2000, and have subsequently become a minor internet cult. Their recordings are known for their ultra lo-fi quality, (despite the constant use of early sampling technology) unrestrained (and often unhinged) musical arrangements, and anarchic humour. Their most famous songs "PritStik (1987)"- an unlikely number 3 hit in mp3.com's reggae charts- and it's earlier punkier version "PritStik (1986)"- allegedly spread through Napster as an "early Bjork demo"- have resurfaced on YouTube. Other songs such as "I Is a Punk" have occasionally surfaced. However, their sole recorded album "Murder in the Recording Studio" is currently out of print.
