About Prägnantne Brigaad
Prägnantne Brigaad was founded at the end of 2010 (renamed as ODD HUGO in August 2012) by frontmen Rando Kruus and Oliver Vare. To this day that versatile duality comprises the essence of the band - the music evolves around two vocals even though the number of instruments has increased from guitars to a ukulele, drums and brass. In a review from the weekly newspaper Eesti Ekspress the poet Siim Kera wrote: 'Mother river indie folk pregnancy. What's it about? I'd say indie, then again that doesn't say anything. They swim in the flow of say Fleet Foxes and Andrew Bird but something's different. Blues influence kicks in, the pre-World War II America comes to mind: smokey bar scenes, gangsters and a guy laying on the ground of a dark alleyway shot full of bullets!' In August 2012 Prägnantne Brigaad changed its name to ODD HUGO.
