About Poweys

Poweys is a new punk/alternative rock band from Los Angeles, California. Their name comes from John Cowper Powys, a favorite author of the band. Similar to 90s alternative groups like Weezer, Green Day, and Nirvana, Poweys mixes rough-sounding distorted guitars with melodic songwriting. Poweys released their debut album "eremitic" digitally in June of 2012 and plans a physical cd release sometime in August.
