About Point No Point
Point No Point was a 5-piece band from Tacoma, Washington. They combined elements from a vast range of musical influences into their sound, creating a unique style all to themselves. The bands passionate live show and original music won them a distinct fan base in the northwest area and along the west coast, and landed them some great shows playing with bands such as The Blood Brothers, Waxwing, Pretty Girls Make Graves, and Strike Anywhere. Consisting of vocalist Brent Carter, bassist Eric Balcom, Pork Pie Drums endorsed drummer Kevin Beason, and guitar players Sean O'Neill and Braden Micona. They have completed two full length albums, "Solus" (1999) and "...Out Of A Stained Glass Family," (2001) and completed a well received two week long west coast tour. They have also been featured on DS Record's "Separating The Humans From The Apes In Punk Rock" compilation CD. Their 2003 release ...Out Of A Stained Glass Family garnered attention due to their off-beat hardcore. Hints of At the Drive-In, Refused, Botch and Rage Against the Machine could be heard throughout the album. The band broke up on numerous occasions. One of the times they split was due to vocalist Brent Carter's move to Montana. He returned two years later to resume singing. The band became a four piece in November of 2005. Guitarist Braden Micona leaving the band for undisclosed reasons. Point No Point played alongside fellow Tacomans and hardcore entusiasts Castles in the Sky on a fairly consistant basis. Mostly sticking to the bar scene. It was announced on Myspace by drummer Kevin Beason on September 20th, 2006 that the band was coming to an end. Brent Carter went on to sing in The Centre Cannot Hold. The Centre Cannot Hold has since broken up due to Brent Carter's move to Georgia to be with his daughter. Point No Point is still beating the dead horse, and beating it, and beating it, and beating it.... Point No Point still plays a show now and again on a whim.
