About Philiae
Formed in 2001 in Hamburg, Germany, the german rock and gothic scene evolved PHILIAE within only one and a half years into an underground tip. Already with the first full length album "Scapegod" PHILIAE could gain a lot of premature praise from sides of the appropriate press. Numerous concerts, among others the unique Zillo Open-Air on the Lorely stage as well as 2004 the first tour through Germany and Denmark followed on the release of the record. From the beginning, PHILIAE have set a strong focus on the symbiosis of picture and sound. This is accomplished through a continuous interaction of music and video as well as a fully visualized live performance. The aim is, to give away something more than the usual rock circus can offer. A lasting message about the human behaviour patterns which lead to the ecological and social disasters of our time. With the EP "The Dawn of a New Error", released in early 2006, PHILIAE set a clear sign where the musical trip will lead in future. Rock music, written after the era of the Industrial. A mixture of the versatility of Pink Floyd and the aesthetics of digital image interference. In summer 2007 the new album "Propaganda" has been released opening the door to a new sound describable in just one word - Philiae.
