About Phùng Khánh Linh
Phùng Khánh Linh (born May 7, 1994) is a Vietnamese singer and songwriter. She developed an interest in music at the age of 3, despite coming from a family with no artistic background. Because her father forbade her to become a singer, she only sang on school stages and at the Pioneers Palace 2015–2018: Participated in The Voice of Vietnam season 3, became famous for "Hôm nay tôi buồn" She became known after participating in the third season of The Voice of Vietnam and was chosen by all four coaches. She was eliminated during Live show 7 of the competition. Her first composition is the song "one sided love", written in early 2017 about a cute budding love story. This was released but did not make much of an impression. She released the single "Hôm nay tôi buồn" in early 2018. With this song, Linh received nominations at big music awards, including Song of the Year and New Artist of the Year at the 2019 Cống Hiến Award. Linh joined Times Records on February 29, 2020 and joined Universal Music Vietnam 5 months later. 2020–2024: The two albums Yesteryear and Citopia On December 3, 2020, she released her debut album yesteryear with 13 self-composed songs to the public. This album is considered a breakthrough of V-pop in the early 2020s. 1,000 physical albums were sold after 2 weeks, this is a large number in the Vietnamese market. Previously, the promotional showcase for the album was also completely sold out after only a few days on sale. At the 2021 Dedication Music Awards, Linh received 2 nominations in the categories Album of the Year and Songwriter of the Year. She was also nominated for the 2021 Yellow Mai Award for the Light Music Singer category. On November 11, 2022, she released her second studio album Citopia with 10 self-composed songs in the Japanese city pop style. The album was highly appreciated by The Japan Times. At the 2023 Dedication Music Awards, Phùng Khánh Linh received 3 nominations in the categories Female Singer of the Year, Songwriter of the Year and Album of the Year. 2025–present: Giữa một vạn người and artistic breakthrough In 2025, Phùng Khánh Linh marked a major turning point in her career with the release of her third studio album GIỮA MỘT VẠN NGƯỜI (stylized as all uppercase) on October 18, 2025. The 12-track project saw her move beyond city pop into a more experimental palette, blending alternative pop, dream pop and indie rock, while continuing to write all songs herself. The final track of the album also features Thành Luke - the former lead vocal of famous indie rock bandCá Hồi Hoang. The album explored darker and more introspective themes, inspired by emotional turmoil and identity struggles, and was considered her most ambitious and conceptually cohesive work to date. It received strong critical acclaim for both its sonic experimentation and production quality, with several singles released ahead of the album helping build momentum. Commercially and culturally, the project significantly expanded her audience, achieving strong performance on digital platforms and physical sales. It also earned major industry recognition, including nominations for Album of the Year at Làn Sóng Xanh Award and multiple nominations at Cống Hiến Award, including Female Singer of the Year, Songwriter of the Year, and Album of the Year. Following the album’s success, Linh brought the project to live audiences through large-scale performances, including festival stages and her first official concert tour, "Giữa một vạn Tour", announced in 2026.
