About Paul Menel

Paul Menel (born 12th June 1963) is an English singer-songwriter best known as the former lead singer of progressive rock band IQ, from late 1985 through to 1990. He wrote the lyrics, co-wrote the music, and sang lead vocals on Nomzamo (1987) and Are You Sitting Comfortably? (1989), IQ's 4th and 5th studio albums. He released a new album in May 2012, called Into Insignificance I Will Pale, featuring some tracks co-written with keyboard player Ian Diment, as well as tracks written with other members of the Paul Menel Band, and produced by Gavin Monaghan at the Magic Garden Studio in Wolverhampton. His debut single from that album is called Twenty One, and was released in the early stages of making the album in August 2010. Paul has been touring the UK and continental Europe since 2011, both promoting his new album and playing songs from Nomzamo and Are You Sitting Comfortably?. This year there have also been some gigs to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Nomzamo, featuring special guests including Martin Orford and John Jowitt.
