About Patty Rentschler
Patty Rentschler was born April 19, 1989 in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Growing up in Pennsylvania, she enjoyed visual art until the age of ten when she got inspired to play the flute upon seeing The Carnival of the Animals live. Now the twenty-year-old flutist attends Drew University for Music and Studio Art. She is an active member of the Drew University Orchestra, Flute Orchestra, and Wind Ensemble. Patty has studied with Keith Symons, June Infantino, Virginia Schulze-Johnson, and currently Laura Elise Carter. She has been awarded the Barnes-Travis Arts scholarship, first chair flute in All-County band, placement in All-District band, and was a finalist in the Weymouth Young Musicians Festival. She maintained principle flute position from 2003-2007 in Pinecrest's Concert Band and Honors Wind Ensemble, as well as being principle flute for the Moore County Philharmonic. She is now principle piccolo for Drew's Wind Ensemble and is an occasional soloist in the flute orchestra. Patty is also a lyricist and former vocalist. Patty now performs in the New Jersey and New York area as a free lance soloist in both classical and rock music.
