Pat Travers' Black Pearl

About Pat Travers' Black Pearl

Pat Travers' Black Pearl was the name given to the band formed by Canadian guitar legend Pat Travers following the breakup of the classic Pat Travers Band lineup which featured Pat Thrall and Tommy Aldridge. The band veered towards a more jazzy / keyboard influenced direction with the addition of full-time piano player Don Harriss. Drum duties were handled by Sandy Gennaro with long time Pat Travers bassist Pete "Mars" Cowling completing the lineup. Although not quite coming up to the heights of "Heat in the Street" and "Crash and Burn", Travers fans will still enjoy this album and it contains Travers classics such as "Stand Up" and "I'd Rather See You Dead". The keyboard experiment didn't make it to Pat's next album "Hot Shot", after which Pat's profile dipped for a few years although he continued to release further albums, many of which showcased Pat's blues capabilities. He continues to tour extensively across the USA and Europe and is still very much here to "kick your ass" and one of the best live acts you'll see.
