Overand's music - both live and recorded - is usually heavily electronically processed, featuring a mix of electronic and acoustic sources, ranging from circuit bent toys to full-sized modular synthesizers and stringed instruments. His influences include Steve Reich, La Monte Young, Trent Reznor, Boards of Canada, and The Death Chants.
