Abert Guirao (born 1976 in Badalona, Barcelona), is an Spanish sound artist, composer and electronic musician. He began his early musical career at the age of fifteen collaborating with guitar arrangements for the underground music scene. Surrounded with his very large vinyl collection and mix taping records for all his friends, some of his records were sold in different stores of Barcelona, in mid-nineties in the hardhouse climax and thru clubs like rachdingue or la sala del cel that were having more advanced programs due to the proximity with France, they where introducing new styles that Albert wouldnt take long in being interested in. The one of the remembered moments would be the Vapourspace concert in the first edition of Sonar94. Soon, after years of sharing projects with different bands, he would start a project called OXIDE bringing his accurate knowledge in sound models and rhythmic structures. Oxide would allow him to get into the electronic music scene while starts experimenting with all kind of electronic sequencers and synthesizers. His career as a DJ starts in 1994 in several clubs of the city of Badalona, in 1996 Albert gets his first residency with Sergio Patricio in the ROBOT nightclub, after this point until the present day, he will play in the bests clubs of Barcelona: OCTOPUSSY, CIBELES, LA TERRAZZA, LA PALOMA, NITSA, CITY HALL, SALSITAS, DANZATORIA, FUSE, REPUBLICA, LA VIA, TECHNIQUE, SAL SESSIONS, ZENTRAUS etc... His wide music culture would allow him to develop very different essay series with an acute accent of the flow of his sets, having as a premise the public and the dancefloor, love acid lines, post-punk sound, soul, jazz, and from the techno to the more pure house, from the Chicago sound to Detroit. Lately he is choosing obscure sounds like spectral sound/ghostly int, raum and hypnotic-melodic atmospheres. Albert has also composed music for the publishing industry, multimedia and different collaborations in soundtracks. Between the most popular projects we emphasise the Bacardi spot. During the season 2003-2004 he would work with Marc Liceras, Paco Osuna and Angel Molina in his prestigious record store in Barcelona, closing a cycle to start again the production.
