About Open BackYard!
Open BackYard! (also known as OBY!) is a Polish art rock band. Paweł Skorupiński - vocal, guitar; Grzegorz Skorupiński - keyboards, guitar, vocal; Marek Sroka - keyboards, vocal; Jakub Andruszkiewicz - bass guitar; Marcin Mukoid - drums, vibraphone. The idea to set up the band appeared in april 2006. 4 members: Paweł, Marek (in that time in The Journey Man), Grzesiek and regional jazz leader, Muko, played together for the first time on 18th birthday party of Paweł, Marek and their friend Wódkin. That occasional band played there Tactless (early version) and Genesis cover "The Musical Box". During the whole next year Paweł, Grzesiek and Marek were working hard trying to make up together something enormous. The members of Open BackYard! were meeting also in many side projects. Marek and Andy played in prog metal band The Journey Man, until Marek left in early 2007. Paweł, Marek and Muko played in an occasional band called Fuel Excercises where they proved that they are very familiar with avant-garde music. The special event that brought the guys closer was the common performance of Muko, Marek, Andy and Paweł (with Ozim on lead vocals) in school at Foreign Language Contest where they played Van Halen's song "Runnin' with the Devil". And eventually, after few months of hidden existence, the band name and squad were selected. http://www.openbackyard.ovh.org/
