About Oo is an Instrument
Oo is a bricolage multidisciplinary Surrealist art instrument. She collects sounds, objects, images, dreams and ideas, and changes them into animations, songs, movies, installations and performances: interperceptive poetic reflections expressing the magic, beauty and humour of everyday life. Oo is Bloem de Wilde de Ligny. In 1999 she was on the verge of breakthrough with her debut album ‘Zink’, but to maintain her freedom she withdrew from the Dutch music scene. She studied fine art in Rotterdam and moved to London. She developed herself as a multidisciplinary artist: not only does she make music, but also drawings, installations and video art. Currently she is working on the album ‘the Song the Ship’, a collection of intimate songs on which she accompanies herself solely on piano or harmonium.
