Brewing in the hearts and minds of three young men, Only The Good Die Young was just a brain child of co-lead guitarists Alex Cushenan and Alex Wright and bassist Matt Micheletti during the summer of 2004. In the short time before school started back up for the trio, everyday was spent ecstatically in the basement of alex wright. All night jams to the same song were a pleasure, and nothing has changed. The passion for the music that these three had carried them to come in contact with fellow classmate of matt and alex wright, percussionist mike hart. With a brutal yet beautiful combination of wright and cushenan leading the way, micheletti holding down the low end, and hart keeping the steady beat, the stars were aligned on a warm october night when a singer coming for a trial cancelled and fourteen year old will turner (now appropriatly dubbed "kit kapone") showed up on wright's doorstep. Immediatly the band members recognized what a lethal force they could be with melodic, intricate music being played behind the low, blood curdling growls of this 120 pound monster. Now the wrath that is Only The Good Die Young was beginning to spawn. Immediatly the band began writing music for themselves but with the intention to put beautiful music behind kit's spine-tingling screams. Behind the pounding riffs of cushanen and wright and the powerful, and always doleful lyrics of micheletti and kit, the members all shared a passion that is beyond indescribable for what they were creating which becomes more than apparent during their live set. to say the least, it's unnerving. it's explosive. it's gripping. settling. chaotic. you can find compromise, resolve and have it all come crashing down with one painstaking growl from kit. Their live show is nothing short of brutal. Blood soaked shirts and guitars attest to this. Only The Good Die Young is one of the few bands that believes that you pay to see a show. Not five musicians swaying to and fro. the idea is to go straight for the throat and to hold on for dear life; to keep their audiences dazed and with every passing second, the uncertainty of what is about to come, without time to recollect what happened last. A whirlwind of emotion at it's ultimate highest pinnacle for the whole set without letting up. This is but one, short chapter in Only The Good Die Young's history, not even long enough for a human life to have been created, these five young men have created this. This is chaos.
