About The Once

The Once is a folk trio based in St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada. The trio is comprised of Geraldine Hollett from Burin, Phil Churchill from Corner Brook and Andrew Dale from Coley's Point. The trio first met in the summer of 2005 while working with the Rising Tide Theatre Company in Trinity. There they discovered a mutual appreciation for folk/traditional music, particularly for the music of their native Newfoundland and the British Isles. Superb musicianship, clever arrangements and stunning harmonies make The Once a fresh and exciting new group whose rise will be worth watching. Their first album, comprised of twelve exquisite songs recorded by Don Ellis and produced by Mark Neary, is now available for purchase at Fred's Records and O'Brien's Music in St. John's or by contacting info@theonce.ca
