NOK NOVUM ~ Calgary, Alberta 2008 - present Formed in early 2008, NOK NOVUM is an experimental metal band from Calgary, Alberta. Originally conceived as a two-piece, guitarist Grant Cooper and drummer Brady Mason create a distinct, textured sound of groove and melody. After years of writing, re-writing, and recording, they released their self-titled debut album on August 5th, 2012. It cleverly fuses 70s progressive rock, jazz-fusion, and instrumental metal in a way that is both chaotic yet simultaneously inviting. Drawing on these diverse influences, NOK NOVUM's ultimate goal is to fuck with sound. Their debut self-titled album was written, produced, recorded, and mixed by NOK NOVUM and Mastered by Adam "Nolly" Getgood (Periphery). Guest solos by Mike MacKenzie (Mike MacKenzie Band), Alan Sacha Laskow (Walk As Chaos/Divinity/Enditol), and Adam "Nolly" Getgood (Periphery). The addition of guitarist Scott Giffin in late 2012 put NOK NOVUM one step closer to completing a live line-up for their upcoming Fall 2013 live performances. Stay tuned!
