About Nikolay Moiseenko

Nikolay Moiseenko is a jazz saxophone player born in Moscow, Russia, on December 7, 1979. In 2007, Moiseenko released "Live @ FHM Club" with his Moscow band Sunlight, and his debut solo album "Perfect World", recorded in the United States. Nikolay Moiseenko started learning saxophone when he was six. In 1998, he became the student of Gnessins State Music College. By his graduation in 2002, Moiseenko had already played with the prominent Russian jazz acts, including Igor Butman, Oleg Lundstrem Jazz Orchestra, Andrei Kondakov and many others. He is a member of the Russian funk bands "Чер-та" and "Sunlight." In 2003, Nikolay won the first prize in the Russian national young jazz musicians contest. In 2004, Nikolay Moiseenko won scolarship in Berkley College of Music, where he is currently studying under George Garzone, Dave Samuels, Herb Pomeroy, David Fiuczynski (the latter appeared as a guest musician on Moiseenko's album).
