About Nierika

Nierika originated in 2001 as Tom Neuwerth and Michal Burget's studio project. For recording, the boys invited gradually Monika Lohrerová (voice), Vláďa Schwarz (MILANO) and Zbyněk Machetanz (LU) to play the guitars and the bass guitar. The project ended up as a regular band that began to play concerts within the Algidance project. At the end of 2003, PIPER RECORDS released their debut "Hydroponicum". Their slower triphop style (if it can be defined) with a great deal of electronic equipment at the beginning has changed gradually into more rock like style and new songs are made in a classic way - guitar idea + other instruments ... In the course of 2004, Nierika played about 20 gigs with Tatabojs, Veneer, Khoiba and Skyline. In their own studio ANIMAN, Nierika remixed tracks by Veneer, Tatabojs, Alvik and Umakart. Songs Schwarzblack, Yesternight and Isabella appeared in insertions of several music magazines. Song Yesternight was even included in the soundtrack of film Silný kafe. 1 June 2005 single "Satellite" was released with remixes by ABUSE and REYNOK, as an omen for Nierika's second album. Bass guitarist Martin Vašica (LU) joined the band. Their second album "Poison on your spoon" was out on 4 April 2006 with Piper Records again. Many live shows followed of course. The band went into hiatus in 2008. During this year there was no live performance at all and they were focusing on recording the new material. The third record is named "Everyone Is Burning" and will be released on 16th April 2009 by Piper Records again. http://www.nierika.cz/
