About Nick Everett & Everybody
Nick Everett & Everybody is a three-animal totem pole of folk-turned-fuck it, a ceaselessly adroit rock tapestry read aloud in what must be the land of giants. Nick Everett has a knack for connecting his fingers to certain guitar strings in a particular collocation that produce pleasing and transcendent noises whose wavelengths may or may not quiver out of our own worldly atmosphere and into the lucid blackness of the cosmic abyss, where their untranslatable pulses could be, at this exact moment, entrancing and lulling the otherwise volatile and adverse unknowns thus dissolving any potential celestial bad blood. He also sings wonderfully. Adam White. He does with two solid drumsticks what Steven Spielberg did with dinosaurs in 1994’s Jurassic Park: literally resurrect a respectful fear, an enamoured awe, and a thundering impact where once was simply an un-living, inanimate hollow barely discernible to even the most psychically sensitive. In the vast, oceanic depths of Scott Boudreau, the bass is but an iceberg, crashing and spraying into existence before skimming atop the blue ubiquity, turning over, shimmering in the eyes of Newfies on her most easterly coast, lulled and tugged by unseen currents like the waking dreams of a lovesick poet in full Spring. A vehicle, a voice, the thing that effed the Titanic. By Cali Barbara-Travis
