About Natalie Kocab
See also Natalie Kocabova ! A talented child of the post-communist young generation of Prague, Natalie Kocab is the granddaughter of the pastor Alfred Kocab who opposed against communism for many years, particularly as a signatory of the 77 charter, and the daughter of the Czech rock star Michael Kocab who was actively involved as an artist (with his mythical band Prazsky vyber) as well as a politician (as a deputy and an external advisor of the president Vaclav Havel) in the fall of the old “regime” and the withdrawal of the soviet army from Czechoslovakia in the years 1980/1990. At 24 years, Natalie has already two successful albums to her credit as a singer (“Fly Apple Pie” composed by Michael Kocab – she is only 16 years old then, and recently “Hummingbirds in Iceland”, the lyrics of which were written by his mother Marsha Kocab, a native of the USA). Natalie is also well established in the Czech literary scene since she proves to be a prolific writer whose rebellious style does not leave the criticism unmoved (so far, she has published three works of prose "Monarcha Absint", "Schola Alternativa" and "Ruze") and a poetess whose surrealistic poetry is peculiar to the Czech spirit (two collections of poetry published to date, the first at 18 years old). She has a 4 years old son, Vincent. These last few years, she studied in a cinema school of Prague, at the scenario section. Her web site (in Czech): www.nataliekocabova.com/kocab.php Written by: L.
