For the past decade Nat Rose has been considered one of Aotearoa’s leading female Soul and Rn’B singers. From the beginning, touring with Upper Hutt Posse back in ‘95 to laying down BV’s with Hollie Smith, Ladi 6 and Solaa – this is one Pacific Rose who is ready to take the spotlight, with her eagerly anticipated debut album Golden Hour. A MAINZ student, Nat Rose joined the Sugarlicks family early in the new millennium – working with the likes of Mark de Clive Lowe, Manuel Bundy and more – and formed the popular band, Lennox Ave, alongside Leon Keelan Davies (Katchafire) and Tyna Keelan (Recloose, Dubious Bros), which enjoyed great live success, particularly around AK. In ’08 though, she has pooled her experiences and friendships, and drops the exquisite Golden Hour album. Golden Hour is the sound of pure, Aotearoa honey. Nat Rose describes her style as “Soultearoa”, and the smooth, killer beats and gorgeous caramel vocals married to strong, insightful and pure songwriting, reflects this perfectly. Nat Rose's time is Now, she has pooled her experiences and friendships, and drops the exquisite Golden Hour album. "I try to keep it Aotearoa," explains West Auckland's Nat Rose. "I was really inspired by what's going on here, cause we're going alright on a global scale. So I didn't want to distort my influence, I just kept it Aotearoa. Inside that CD [her new album 'Golden Hour'] it says '100% Soultearoa', which is how I represent my album; my music. It's a saying that's been around in the underground circuit, but I definitely feel that this is 100% soul and I'm from Aotearoa. That's me, and all this music is from here, so no influence outside of this country, I try to keep it here." Guests on the album include Leon Keelan Davies (Katchafire), Sacha Keating, Steph Brown (Opensouls, The Krates), Kim Halliday (Whirimako Black, Big Belly Woman), Charnao, Will Sarich, Trinity Kaumoana and the late Phil Fuemana.
