About Nadsat Rebel
Nadsat Rebel was a punk band from Evanston, IL, active from 1983 to 1985. They recorded a demo with Steve Albini in 1983 and appeared on the compilations "Last Rites" and "Middle of America", both released in 1984. The name "Nadsat" was taken from the self-created English/Russian hybrid language used by the four goons in Anthony Burgess' The Clockwork Orange. Guitarist Matt Diehl went on to become a writer, with works appearing in Rolling Stone and the New York Times. In 2007, he published the book "My So-Called Punk: Green Day, Fall Out Boy, The Distillers, Bad Religion--How Neo-Punk Stage-Dived into the Mainstream".
