About NAÏSSAM JALAL

For several years, the flautist Naïssam Jalal has been revealing a personal and vibrant musical universe which, both in substance and in form, gives new meaning to the word freedom. In a search and a curiosity constantly renewed, she shines by her virtuoso capacity to weave the links between the different musical cultures and the aesthetic fields. Commitment by and in music: this is the guideline of his multiple artistic projects which have not ceased to surprise thanks to their originality, their authenticity and their artistic qualities. Born in Paris, from Syrian parents, the musician built herself, from the age of 6, on the artistic level in the multitude of human and artistic meetings. At 17, she discovered improvisation and left the conservatory after obtaining the CFEM. She joined different bands like Tarace Boulba with which she toured France and Mali on tour. At 19, Naïssam left to continue her apprenticeship at the Grand Institute of Arab Music in Damascus where she studied nay. Later, she moved to Cairo for a few years and enriched her playing with the greatest masters of classical Arab music such as the great violinist Abdu Dagher , or even, Fathi Salamawith whom she performs in the most prestigious theaters. She participated in the creation of the groups El Dor El Awal and Bakash . Between musical training and quest for self, these years of initiation in the noble sense constitute the foundation of today's artist.
