About Myth of I
Myth of I is a Boston-based group which arose from the dorms of the esteemed Berklee College of Music in 2013. After re-releasing their first EP in 2017, Myth of I have slowly but surely primed themselves to shake up the progressive metal scene vigorously. Their self-titled debut album was released on April 10th, 2020, preceded by singles 'The Illustrator,' 'Felix Culpa,' and 'Glass Castles.' Fully instrumental, it featured a predominately progressive metal sound with some electronic elements, and influences from both djent and death metal. The two singles 'The Expedition' and 'Naivete' were released in 2022, featuring vocals and a drastically different sound. Their next release, an EP titled 'Blood' was released on September 22nd, 2023, preceded by the single 'Jenova,' which featured a snippet of the JENOVA theme from Final Fantasy 7. The EP built upon their progressive metal sound from their self-titled album, while also featuring more proggy clean sections, reminiscent of bands such as Polyphia and Animals as Leaders. It also went back to being fully instrumental.
