Delivering an eponymous new EP this year, MM is roaring into gear with a fresh lineup including new lead vocalist Amanda Cabrera and bassist Andrew Gibson, on top of the band’s solid core of Frazzle Rock (drums), Statis Kuo (violin, vocals, rhythm guitar) and MC Shockey (vocals, lead guitar). Cabrera, last seen fronting the band Ruby Red, brings a new sensibility to the 'Monster's music with a vocal presence ready to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with rock's great female leads. Soaring above precision guitar attacks and unrelenting rhythm, her voice brings vibrancy to music already long-respected for being as versatile as it is tight. But for everything that's new, some things about the band aren’t changing: “My Monster kicks right to the gut, evoking a raw power and intense sound that’s a throwback to more subversive alternative and indie heydays.” (Silicon Valley Metro) A local band to San Jose California, My Monster has been together for a few years now. They have a very unique sound that brings alternative and metal together in a great original sound. Mike "Shockey" is the lead guitarist/vocals guy. He is quite excellent on his guitar. Joyce "Stattise" Kuo plays both rhythm guitar and violin as well as back up vocals. Sean "Freak Monkey" rocks simple yet full bass lines and is always rockin out at live shows.
