Their name pays tribute to Dallas girl band LOVIE. Their inspiration is the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, with a 3 piece setup using vocals, guitar and drums. The Pixies and The Dandy Warhols are other influences. They take the 90s alternative sound and put a dancy head boppin beat to it.
