About Moscow Tops
Moscow Tops is one of many, many bands / projects / musical initiatives by Amsterdam, The Netherlands-born, -bred and -based musician and songwriter, Gerry Putter a.k.a. Jerry Turner, a.k.a. Gerry Jerry a.k.a. Jerry Putter. Moscow Tops were active in 1982 and 1983 and released one demo cassette: The Sound of Young Amsterdam (1982). The band's line-up included Ad Posters (guitar), Leo Louw (bass), Jaap Blok (drums), Ed Kroket (sax) and Turner himself. Moscow Tops were forgotten by practically everybody until one Marco van Dalfsen, an avid collector of Dutch demo cassettes, started doing research for his Diggin' Demos project. Van Dalfsen even re-issued the cassette (75 copies) and made the music available digitally. 'Digital only' bonus material with the cassette: Moscow Tops' only known live recording, Live at De Sneeuwbal (1983).
